The Verdant Crane School, also known as the Song Clan, is one of the greater clans in the Murim. This is shown by the presence of their former head master Baek Gyeol in the Martial Arts Alliance's Council of masters. It is also the school of the only known Sammoonryong, Kang Sung. Who would go on to become the chief of the Martial Arts Alliance.
Martial Arts[]
Overview[]
The Verdant Crane School's martial arts consist of a variety of styles each focuses on a specific aspect of martial arts. The strength based martial arts (like the Strong Metal Hand), which focus on raw strength used for attack and defence, and the flow based martial arts (like the Tai Chi arts), which focus on controlling the flow of power to defend and attack against stronger opponents. One similar trait in all styles of Verdant Crane School shown so far is that the focus of Verdant Crane Martial Arts is the use of each aspect (strength, flow) for both attack and defence.
Techniques[]
- Strong Metal Hand: A technique that focuses on the physical strength. It is the stronger known technique confirmed to be from the Verdant Crane School and the training that it requires is farther proof of the specialty (physical strength) of the clan. A master of this technique alone can rival Han Chun-Woo and block the Spirit-Crushing Fist.[1]
- Strong Metal Binding: Once this technique activates the user's hand becomes hard and stiff as solid steel and cannot be moved unless the user deactivates it. This technique remains active even after the user's death. It can also be used as the last act of desperation where even in death, one will not let go of what one has grasped.[2]
Tai-Chi Arts[]
- Main article: Tai Chi
- Reflection Technique: one of the greatest techniques of the Tai-Chi Arts. It is known to be able to defend against any attack and return it back to the attacker, thus the name reflective. The only known user is Kang Sung.[3]
